There is a unique charm to Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, nestled between the serene settings of the tranquil Creek and just a 'drive' away from the bustling City Centre.
A round of golf at the sporting oasis in the heart of the city has a distinct aura of a delightful journey across the fabled landscape of Dubai, a city that thrives in all seasons. Well-groomed fairways lined with date palms and coconut trees, attractive water hazards and shrubbery lends a tropical air to the Club's 18-hole, par-71 championship course that rolls into thousands of undulating yards.
The majestic Clubhouse – its design mirroring the sails of the traditional Arab dhow – has been one of the most photographed landmarks since it opened in 1993, capturing the essence of Dubai's seafaring traditions and presenting the perfect fusion of heritage with modernity and style. The centrepiece of the 80-hectare sports and leisure complex, the Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club course (initially designed by Karl Litten to championship standards) was given a makeover by Thomas Björn and European Golf Design in 2004/5, transforming it into a challenging 6,800 yard, par-71 course highlighted by a redesigned front nine.
The Club also includes Park Hyatt Dubai, 92 residential villas, award-winning restaurants and a 121-berth marina, making the Club a true landmark of luxury. Dubai’s first-ever Golf Academy boasts facilities such as a video swing analysis studio, a floodlit 9-hole Par 3 golf course, 36-bar driving range and putting, bunker, chipping greens, which all help to catalyse the process of spreading the golfing culture.
The cradle of golf in the UAE, as the Club is known for contributing to the growth of the game, was voted as one of the top 100 must-play golf courses in the world by the UK magazine Golf World (November 2005). Dubai Creek has also played host to the premier Dubai Desert Classic in 1999 and 2000, offering a true test for the best in the business.
